Green Space Challenge Stories Day 15
“We are Andrew and Kathryn Gomez. We have lived in Romeo for 3 years and are members of the Romeo Historical Society. When searching for our first home, we thought it would be impossible to find a forever home. The Romeo community, scenery, safety and care that went into our historic home have proved us wrong.
We vividly recall our first walk through town in the winter with a light snow thinking we are living in a real life hallmark town. We continue to walk our Airedale Terrier (George) through town almost every day, often by the Green Space. It is peaceful and bigger than any park spaces in the village.
As avid gardeners, we dream of flowers, trees, and native plants in this space with winding paths similar to the Green Space at Kettering University that we often walked George through once upon a time. With such a wonderful community, we are confident that creativity and gatherings would occur in what we see as the physical heart of our village.
Each season presents unmatched beauty in Romeo that we hope to experience in this future space.
From winter walks that are greeted with wonderfully smelling fireplaces to music-filled summer evenings during Porch Fest, we would cherish walking through it for many years to come.”
