Green Space Challenge Stories Day 8
“We are the Mintons – Brian, Krystal, Teagan, and Gavin. We have lived in Romeo for 14 years. Our daughter Teagan was six months old when we moved here, and our son Gavin was born and raised in this community. Teagan is now in 9th grade with a graduating class of 2028, and Gavin is in 7th grade with a graduating class of 2030.
We were sad to see the middle school go, as our children could have simply walked across the street to go to school, but they didn’t have the chance before it was demolished. Although we miss the middle school being there, having it as a green space has been wonderful!
Watching the beautiful sunsets and the deer roam has been an incredible experience. And we love seeing all the people come to enjoy the space for various activities, such as flying kites, walking their dogs, and playing neighborhood baseball games, which our son has participated in countless times. It is heartwarming to see families and friends gather here and enjoy this piece of property.
This is a place that holds countless memories and will continue to do so for years to come with your support. Please help GSOPS in their efforts to preserve this property, because this place matters.”
