Green Space Challenge Stories Day 1
“The seeds of my work in conservation and ecology were in so many ways planted by growing up in Romeo. Green spaces in this area and throughout Michigan have served as such a crucial environment for me to explore and be curious in.
A new green space right in the heart of the village could mean that this same land which has served the community for over a century can continue to do so in a new way. This piece of property is a way that our community can reinvest in itself and the future of the young people whose own exploration it will support. I truly wish to encourage everyone to reflect on what these types of spaces have helped them achieve, and to give back to them in as much as you are capable. The world around us reacts directly to how we treat it, and without the conscious decision to remain stewards of the natural world, we risk losing much of it altogether.”
