Green Space Challenge Stories Day 32
“Oh to be young and travel to see all these beautiful green spaces!
My husband Kruiz and I have lived in the Romeo area since 1990. When coming home from work it was so relaxing once we passed 22 Mile Road and came to our rural home.
Time changes, as all things do and much of our open space was filled with new homes, with
others like ourselves who wanted to live in a rural area. We do not like to drive South of 26 Mile Road now!
I worked in the Romeo School District for 22 years as a substitute secretary in all of
the schools. So Romeo means a lot to me.
We have been married for 65 years and through those years we have traveled all over the
United States; be it by car, motorcycle or motorhome. We have been to every state. It was
absolutely wonderful seeing all the green spaces in National Parks, State Parks and small
town parks that have been preserved for us, our children and grandchildren to enjoy.
Now it is time for Romeo to have the same opportunity for our community. To let this
opportunity slip by would be a sad moment in time for Romeo, for this opportunity will not come again.
Please help give the children, parents and seniors a place to play and relax and enjoy nature.”
